"No matter what our beliefs are we
all depend and walk on the earth,
we're all affected by the sun’s
position in the sky, and we all
depend on nature. This is the
common ground on which we call
people together to remember our
connection with these forces."
The Diversity

In 1994 Katja began facilitating the Summer Solstice Celebration rituals, and in 2001 she was joined by Valerianna Claff. Their combined efforts have brought the rituals to new heights.

The rituals they co-create are based on the eternal cycles of life that correspond to the cycles in nature. They're participatory, eclectic, they celebrate diversity, plus they bringing people with different views and backgrounds together.

"We all have ancestors, known or unknown, and we are all primed to have a relationship with them."

In 2006, their ritual was focused on healing relationships with ancestors. They created little effigies - stick dolls that they worked with for the duration of the ritual. They spoke to, washed, and decorated them. They feed them staple grains to symbolize all the continents. They placed the effigies in a circle around the center shrine and they all sat in council. In the end they were placed in one of the ancient chambers.
