PLAY ALONG DRUM MUSIC
Music provided by:
Cliff Madru, C.S.ONE's Spirit-of-the-Drum Keeper.
Note: If you're a beginner...
If you don't have a drum yet, try using an empty plastic gallon water bottle or other type of container. Hold the "drum" upside down between your legs, closer toward your knees. Try playing it with and without the top on (if any) and notice the difference in sound.
Slap the top of your drum with your hands opened, making sure to lift your hand off the drum as soon as you hit it. If you rest your hand on the drum the sound will not resonate. Keep your hands only a few inches above the top of the drum. If they are too far away your arms will tire out much more quickly. If you just want to practice keeping a beat, you can also tap your drum using just a finger or two.
You can also rattle or dance to the music. If you don't have a rattle, try putting some rice or beans in an empty plastic bottle, tighten the cap, and shake it like you mean it!
