Recent scientific research shows that dealing with limiting aspects of our awareness by a direct mind-body-energy intervention can be effective when conventional psychotherapy isn't. By working directly on the body, the energy of a belief, memory, or thought can be shifted. Although problems may originate in the mind or emotions, we have a “reset switch” in our bodies that, when triggered at the physical level, dramatically affects the emotional level, without having to do the emotional work.
Energy Psychology incorporates the techniques of psychotherapy, however, in addition to the practitioner talking with their client to determine the goal or problem area, in Energy Psychology the practitioner also incorporates one of the Energy systems. This might include teaching the client how to tap on their meridian points, or how to hold their hand over their chakras while holding in their own mind the distressing thought, event or emotion they are trying to work through. Because energy moves faster than matter, the results are often surprisingly fast, with much less distress and a sense of relief and release.
The simple techniques of Energy Psychology can be used at home as a self-empowering way to free yourself from unwanted beliefs, emotions or distressing memories. You can also use them to envision the life you would like to have, and remove any old energy of limitation, lack, or worthlessness that might be blocking you.
