About The Chakras: Page 1 of 2
The chakras - or energy centers - are part of a system that regulates the body’s energy intake and distribution. Every chakra (pronounced chock-rah) affects and is affected by the health and functioning of both the physical and psychological bodies.
Although an expanded system of both major and minor chakras have been recognized, most eastern traditions describe a sevenfold major chakra system located along the line of the spinal column. The word chakra means “spinning wheel of light”.
Your thoughts and emotions are interrelated with the energy centers and affect your physical state of being. Emotional upset due to trauma, abuse, conflict, neglect, loss, stress, anxiety, fear and past programming (1) all create blockages and obstruct the flow of energy to and from the chakras.
1. Past programming refers to emotional, behavioral, and situational programs that develop and get imprinted in your DNA due to karma, traumatizing events, and other experiences that occurred in your past and/or in your past lives.
